Fakir ready to face former side

France international Jamal Fakir will be a man on a mission in the Challenge Cup fifth-round tie between Bradford and Catalan Dragons at the Provident Stadium.

The veteran prop claims he was made the scapegoat for the Dragons' disastrous start to the season and quit the Perpignan club after being demoted to the reserves.

Bulls coach Francis Cummins wasted no time in securing the services of the vastly-experienced forward and is expecting him to have extra motivation against his old club, who have found their form with five wins from their last six matches.

"There is no doubt that Jamal has a point to prove, I think it's only natural," Cummins said.

"I've talked to him about playing with his head and not his heart. He needs to keep a lid on that but we need him to be at his best."

The tie sees the return to Odsal of former Bulls favourites Leon Pryce and Elliott Whitehead, while second rower Jay Pitts will make his debut for Bradford after joining them on loan from Hull.
