Thornton keen to keep momentum

Gary Thornton is hopeful his York City Knights outfit can continue their momentum against Toulouse in the Tetley's Challenge Cup.

The Knights have won three of their last four games, with last week's triumph over Dewsbury moving them into the top six of the Kingstone Press Championship.

And Thornton, who saw his side progress to the fourth round with a last-gasp victory over amateur side Blackbrook, wants the winning feeling to continue on Sunday at the Huntington Stadium.

"We've won three of our last four and we want to make it four out of five - that will give us a confidence boost. I'm a big believer in keeping momentum and keeping winning ways going," Thornton told the York Press.

"It's not the end of the world if we lose but it will be fantastic to get through, to get more into the coffers and increase confidence."

Thornton will be without his dual-registration players from Hull, while on-loan Sheffield Eagles winger Nev Morrison is unavailable.

Jack Aldous (shoulder), Luke Stenchion (ribs) and Sam Scott (hip) are injured, but Kriss Brining, Jack Iley and fit-again skipper James Ford all return.
