Match Preview

Hull KR coach Craig Sandercock believes both his team and Hull FC will go into the 221st derby at the KC Lightstream Stadium on Thursday night in their best form of the season.

The Robins are on a high following their first win at Warrington Wolves for six years and a fourth-consecutive victory would lift them above their local rivals into the top eight.

"It shows we are taking some steps in the right direction," Sandercock said of his side's 25-12 victory at the Halliwell-Jones Stadium.

"The boys really worked hard for each other and I'm hoping that will continue."

Hull, too, go into the derby on the back of their best win of the season, a 30-6 hammering of last year's league leaders Huddersfield Giants.

"They're playing well," Sandercock admitted. "They had a great win against Huddersfield.

"They've got a massive forward pack and some sharp outside backs."

Sandercock has made just one change to the side that won at Warrington, with prop Justin Poore returning from a three-match ban in place of the injured Adam Walker. There is still no place for Greg Eden, with Ben Cockayne continuing at full-back.

FC coach Lee Radford has made just one change to the side that beat Huddersfield, recalling veteran half-back Richard Horne who has missed the last two matches with a mild muscle strain. He takes the place of Aaron Heremaia, while Richard Whiting continues at centre in place of Ben Crooks, who is again set to play for Doncaster.
