Engage With Your Club
The "Engage with your club" initiative was launched in 2011 as an annual programme which aims to help improve club facilities in the community game.
The basis of the programme is to inspire community clubs to bring together a volunteer workforce to hold an Action Event which will improve their club facility.
An Action Event provides a club with a great opportunity to recruit volunteers in order to improve your club facilities.
Events can be big or small and ANYTHING that contributes to an improvement of your club environment can be part of Engage with your Club.
Past projects have ranged from painting changing rooms to complete refurbishment of social facilities, from litter picks and trimming shrubbery to building pitch perimeter safety barriers.
A cash prize of £3,000 is awarded to the project deemed to have the most impact – judged by the RFL Facilities Trust – but all clubs who run an Action Day are entered into a draw to win one of seven £1,000 cash prizes.
To be part of Engage with your Club, clubs should register by contacting Sean Mellor at firstname.lastname@example.org with an idea of the time of year they’ll run their event.
Any clubs that register before Monday June 30 will be able to order posters and t-shirts to help promote their Action Day.
All clubs that run their event by Sunday August 31 2014 and complete the post-Action Day questionnaire will be eligible for the prize draw.
