Nine Championship One players suspended

Nine players from Rochdale Hornets and South Wales Scorpions have been suspended following an incident in the 40th minute of their Co-operative Championship One fixture on August 12.
Rochdale player Gary Middlehurst has been suspended for three games after the RFL Disciplinary Committee found him guilty of committing a Grade C sustained punching offence. Middlehurst pleaded guilty to the charge and was also fined £50.
South Wales Scorpions player Nathan Mossop has been suspended for one game after being found guilty of committing a Grade B punching offence during the same incident.
The following players were also banned after submitting Early Guilty Pleas;
- Phil Braddish (Rochdale Hornets) – two-match suspension for Grade C sustained punching;
- Chris Hough (Rochdale Hornets) - two-match suspension for Grade C sustained punching;
- Steve Bannister (Rochdale Hornets) – one-match suspension for Grade B punching;
- Dayne Donaghue (Rochdale Hornets) – one-match suspension for Grade B sustained punching;
- Luke Kell (South Wales Scorpions) – one-match suspension for Grade B punching;
- Dom Crosby (South Wales Scorpions) – one-match suspension for Grade B head-butt;
- Jason Howells (South Wales Scorpions) – two-match suspension for Grade C offence of entering the field of play without permission of the referee and striking.
