Tyrer inspires Doncaster defeat
Steve Tyrer contributed 18 points as Halifax recorded a 34-16 Kingstone Press Championship victory over Doncaster in a game of two halves.
Tyrer crossed over twice in the opening 20 minutes, either side of a Rob Worrincy try, with the former on target with two of the three conversions for Halifax.
Sam Barlow, Craig Ashall and Anthony Thackery also got scores for the away side with Tyrer adding three more goals to give them a 34-0 lead at the break.
The second period saw Doncaster muster three tries from Chris Spurr, Ben Blakemoor and Brett Waller with Paul Cooke kicking over two goals - but that was as far as their comeback went and Halifax failed to add to their first-half tally.
