Fozzard takes up Wakefield post
Former St Helens forward Nick Fozzard has been appointed Wakefield Trinity Wildcats' new business development manager.
Wakefield-born Fozzard, who enjoyed a successful playing career with Leeds Rhinos, Huddersfield Giants, Saints, Warrington Wolves and Hull KR, spent 12 months as commercial manager at Super League neighbours Castleford Tigers until resigning earlier this year.
"I'm from Wakefield so to work for my home-town club is a big thing for me and I want to make a real success of the opportunity," he said.
"The club has made some real strides off the pitch in the last couple of years and that's a really solid foundation for us to build on."
Meanwhile, full-back Richard Mathers is set to return from injury for the Wildcats' Tetley's Challenge Cup fifth-round tie at Hull FC on Friday.
Mathers has been out for a month with an ankle injury and a ruptured testicle but has been named in coach Richard Agar's 19-man squad.
Hull will be without back-row forward Joe Westerman, who suffered a hand injury in last Friday's win over London Broncos.
Former Wakefield favourite Gareth Ellis will lead the Black and Whites on his first Challenge Cup appearance for five years.
