Hull FC captain Gareth Ellis is in danger of missing his club's Challenge Cup quarter-final against Catalan Dragons after being charged with striking.

Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson was angered by the England forward's challenge on scrum-half Luke Robinson during Hull's 22-16 Super League defeat at the KC Stadium yesterday.

Ellis was today charged by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel of a grade B offence, which carries a suspension of one to two matches.

The Black and Whites captain has the option of accepting a one-game ban by submitting an early-guilty plea and missing the cup tie in Perpignan on Saturday or fighting the charge at a disciplinary hearing, which would carry the risk of a two-match ban if found guilty.

Ellis was also given a caution for dangerous contact in an unrelated incident from the same match.

The Catalans also have disciplinary worries ahead of the last-four tie after prop Julian Bousquet and centre Mathias Pala were charged over offences arising out of their 34-28 league win over London Broncos on Saturday.

Bousquet is accused of a grade C dangerous tackle and, having served a four-match ban earlier in the season, is not eligible for an early-guilty plea and so will face a hearing via Skype tomorrow.

Pala has been charged with a grade B offence of striking but is eligible to make an early-guilty plea.

Castleford Tigers prop Ryan Boyle and Wigan hooker Logan Tomkins also have until 11 o'clock tomorrow morning to admit grade B offences arising from matches over the weekend.
