Foran makes Salford exit
Salford City Reds have released Australian scrum-half Liam Foran less than 12 months into his three-year contract, the player has revealed.
The 25-year-old older brother of New Zealand international Keiran Foran joined the City Reds along with forward Vic Mauro from Manly Sea Eagles at the time of the takeover by Marwan Koukash in February.
But neither player has figured in Salford's last three matches under coach Brian Noble and Foran says he has met with club bosses and been released.
"I really wanted to play three years in England but it's not to be," he told the Manchester Evening News. "To have done so would have been good and what I have experienced has been great and very beneficial.
"I wish Salford all the very best for the future. I have met some really good blokes while I have been playing in England.
"I am looking at going back into the NRL - I know I can go well at this level having done so in the past."
