Official Match Report

Marvellous Moulsdale sinks Stags

Andrew Moulsdale had a hat-trick of tries as North Wales Crusaders closed the gap on Kingstone Press Championship 1 leaders Oldham thanks to a 44-12 victory over Hemel Stags.

The Crusaders made a strong start and Tommy Johnson and Moulsdale crossed in the opening seven minutes with Johnson adding the extras to Moulsdale's score to give them a 10-0 lead.

Barry John Swindells converted Aidan Pritchard's try as the Stags got back into the game but further scores from Dave McConnell (2) and Dan Birkett saw Crusaders into a comfortable 26-6 lead at half-time.

Jack Molloy went over for Hemel's second try of the afternoon but, almost immediately, Moulsdale responded with his second of the afternoon.

Birkett and Moulsdale then ran in two late tries to put further gloss on the scoreline.
