Volunteers wanted for Match Officials group

Group formed to continue development of officials.

The RFL is advertising a total of 26 new roles within the new Match Officials Group structure throughout England.

The role of these voluntary positions will be to continue the development of Match Officials at Tier 3 and 4 and ensure smooth running in your area of the community game.

Each individual will have the responsibility of putting into practice the RFL Match Official Strategy of which the aim is to ensure continued professional development.

The roles are categorised into four areas which will each require a different number of personnel.

The area of north and south will need one of the below whilst two Heads of Tier 4, Tier 4 Educator and Tier 4 Administrator will be required for east and west.

Roles required:
HEAD OF TIER 3 – Oversee all National Conference League/Conference League South Match Officials in your area to ensure they are all given an equal opportunity to develop with a view of progressing to achieve their potential.

TIER 3 EDUCATOR – Assist the Head of Tier 3 by ensuring CPD modules are in place to allow all Match Officials in your group an equal opportunity to develop.

HEAD OF TIER 4 - Oversee all Match Officials in regional competitions to ensure they are all given an equal opportunity to develop with a view to progressing to Tier 3 and achieve their potential.

TIER 4 EDUCATOR – Assist the Head of Tier Four by ensuring CPD modules are in place to allow all Match Officials in your group an equal opportunity to develop.

TIER 4 ADMINISTRATOR – Assist the Head of Tier 4 to ensure all Match Officials are listed on a central database and made aware of any important information from within their group.


Successful applicants will have experience in working with Match Officials or representative players and a proven ability to manage groups and support staff.

You must be able to communicate efficiently and understand the talent development process.
