Lions claim Home Nations title
The English Lions clinched the Home Nations title with a huge 94-0 win over Scotland at Wath Brow Hornets yesterday.
Centre Fran King – one of two Hornets players in the Lions line-up – played a starring role with a five-try performance as the home side powered their way to an 18-try triumph.
Full-back Shaun Quinn landed nine goals to complete a rout which saw his side rack up a 40-0 lead by half-time.
Wingers Emmerson Newburn and Darren Woods both helped themselves to a brace of tries and John Paul Brocklebank went one better as he claimed a hat-trick.
Efforts from Nathan Kitson, Shaun Garrod, Sean Emblem, Caldon Bravo, Scott Glassell and Daryl Kay completed the scoring against a Scottish side that had a standout performer second-rower Paddy Couper.
The win was the Lions third comfortable success having seen off Wales and Ireland in their previous two encounters.
