Wigan winger Josh Charnley says the Warriors will be going all out to ensure they keep their season alive by beating Leeds Rhinos when the sides meet in this Friday’s Super League qualifying semi-final at the DW Stadium (8.00pm).

Wigan host defending champions Leeds after Warrington Wolves elected to play Huddersfield Giants during Sunday’s ClubCall announcement but the England winger says his side are happy to play any opposition with a place at the 2013 Super League Grand Final just 80 minutes away.

“We were written off early in the play-offs,” said Charnley. “Everybody was saying that we were going to be beaten at Huddersfield but we put 110 per cent in and it’s shown because we came away with a great win in that game.

“It’s an exciting time of the year now where you have got to play well because if you don’t, then one game of 80 minutes could mean that your season is over so we are putting all of our efforts in to make sure that doesn’t happen.

“It’s coming to the end of the year and that’s when the exciting rugby is played, so it’s good to have all the individual players stepping up their game when it matters. Everyone is looking good in the camp so we’re feeling confident.”

Having beaten Huddersfield during week one of the play-offs Wigan earned a two-week rest between games and Charnley believes that rest could prove to be a huge boost to the squad.

“Once you are playing to the standard that you want to be at, everybody wants to be playing week-in, week-out, which is a good thing,” said Charnley.

“But some of the boys needed this rest though, so now we can build on that and be ready for our game on the 27th and go into that match fresh.

“It’s just a case of turning up on the day and doing our jobs now and we’re confident we can do that.”
