Snedden increases stake in Widnes
Widnes Vikings director Roddy Snedden has increased his stake in the Super League club.
Snedden has been impressed with the improvements the Vikings have made this year and, despite only joining the Widnes board six months ago, he has no doubts over furthering his investment.
The news is another boost for Widnes one week after it was announced head coach Denis Betts had signed a two-year extension to his contract.
"Since becoming a director at Widnes Vikings, it has been a pleasure to be involved with the club and its continuing growth," Snedden said.
"The level of work and commitment displayed by all the staff, and their enthusiasm to continue the already vast improvements that are being made, confirmed that my initial investment in June was the right decision.
"On seeing the improving structure of the youth programme, as well as the improvements within the first team and Denis' long-term vision, I felt that now was a great time to continue my support and further invest in what I believe is a very exciting period in Widnes Vikings' future."
Widnes chief executive James Rule added: "I am delighted that in the relatively short space of time since he became a director that he has seen enough evidence of progress to encourage him to invest further in the Vikings and increase his ownership share."
