Dewsbury Rams 16-23 Whitehaven RLFC
Whitehaven enjoy fine win
Whitehaven turned the Kingstone Press Championship table upside down with a 23-16 win at Dewsbury.
England youth international Jordan Burns scored two first-half tries to help the Cumbrians climb off the foot of the table and inflict the first defeat of the campaign on the high-flying Rams.
Former Wigan and Bradford winger Shaun Ainscough and ex-Warrington second rower Lee Mitchell also scored tries for Whitehaven as they led 20-4 at the break.
Dewsbury threatened a comeback when Dale Morton and Aaron Brown scored second-half tries, to add to Greg Scott's only first-half score, but Cain Southernwood clinched the visitors' first win of the season with a drop goal, to add to his two conversions and a penalty.
