Lions off the mark

Swinton picked up their first Kingstone Press Championship win of the season, thanks to a helping hand from partnership club Warrington, with six of their eight tries in a 44-26 triumph over Barrow coming from Wolves players.

Ireland forward Ben Currie, playing on a dual-registration, scored a hat-trick and his Warrington team-mates Kevin Penny, Rhys Evans and Brad Dwyer also touched down for the Lions.

Swinton's veteran centre Mick Nanyn scored a try and kicked six goals on his 350th career appearance while former Warrington centre Ryan Shaw scored two tries and three goals for Barrow.

Swinton also gave a first run-out to prop Paul Wood since October's Super League Grand Final defeat by Wigan,
