Ben Cockayne believes that his Hull Kingston Rovers side have one of the toughest tests of the Tetley’s Challenge Cup fourth round as they prepare to host last season’s semi-finalists Warrington Wolves at the KC Lightstream Stadium on Sunday (2.00pm).

Rovers head into the game on the back of two home wins, against Bradford Bulls and Cockayne’s former team Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, and now the wing wants to see his side take their good form into a tough-looking tie.

“Our forward pack has been brilliant and we’ve just got to carry on with that, and carry on improving,” said Cockayne.

“We just want to try to put a run together and perform well. We’d love to get a win this weekend, but the performance is important too.

“We’ve probably got one of the biggest tasks this weekend of anyone left in the Cup, but we’re looking to get the win.”

After struggling with injuries during the season’s first weeks, Rovers are starting to find the consistency that saw them finish in the play-offs last season.

Heading into Rugby League’s oldest and most prestigious competition, Cockayne can’t help but think of the ultimate destination that the Challenge Cup road leads to.

“It would be unbelievable to get to Wembley,” said Cockayne. “Growing up as a kid you dream about playing in a Challenge Cup final and it would be a dream come true.

“I don’t think as a team we are quite at the level we want to be at yet. We’ve a few new faces, and have had a few injuries, and we haven’t quite been able to get the consistency in team selection yet.

“There is always room for improvement - we can improve and that’s what we will be looking to do.”
