Swinton edge thriller

Dewsbury drop to sixth in the Kingstone Press Championship after going down 37-31 to Swinton at Leigh Sports Village, where the lead changed hands eight times in a thrilling encounter.


The Rams led 16-6 thanks to two tries from Shane Grady on the 100th appearance of his career and one from skipper Wayne Godwin, but Swinton went in front by half-time thanks to tries from Danny Halliwell, James Brown and the first of two by Kevin Penny.


A drop goal from Kieran Hyde edged Dewsbury 31-30 in front eight minutes from the end but Gareth O'Brien, playing on a dual-registration from Warrington, levelled the scores four minutes later and Luke Menzies went over for the match-winning try a minute from the end.
