A total of 106 women achieved the challenge of conquering 26miles, to raise money for the charity Life for a Kid.
The Life for a Kid charity is the brainchild of Lisa Yeaman, wife of Hull player Kirk Yeaman which helps to raise money for children who require life changing operations and equipment to lead a better life; and also the Ear Trust charity, which helps to support families and children who are born profoundly deaf.
With the help of Super League partner Foxy Bingo sponsoring and supporting the ladies for a second year running, along with many other kind donations, the charities have managed to raise an impressive total upwards of £20,000.
Jenna Brough, wife of Huddersfield Man of Steel, Danny Brough said: “There have been a few tears and tantrums along the way, but I am so proud of all the girls. It’s a great achievement and a great way to meet other ladies within the sport of the Super League."
With temperatures souring over the Easter weekend, the prior training and support from their professional sporting partners, certainly paid dividends as the ladies showed brilliant tenacity and determination in completing the 12 hour marathon.
As part of their Super League sponsorship, Foxy Bingo will be launching their Ladies of the League campaign towards the end of this week. Players and fans from across the sport of Rugby League will be able to nominate women within their community who go above and beyond for their club, whether it is at Super League or grassroots levels.
