New deal for Shaul

Hull FC full-back Jamie Shaul has committed his future to the club by signing a new four-and-a-half year contract.

Hull FC full-back Jamie Shaul has committed his future to the club by signing a new four-and-a-half year contract.

The 20-year-old has not looked back since leaving the building site where he worked as an apprentice bricklayer two years ago to concentrate on rugby league.

Shaul inherited the full-back role when Australian Shannon McDonnell tore a hamstring during the club's Challenge Cup run last July and has kept the job ever since.

"I am over the moon as Hull is the club I supported as a young kid and I have developed my game here," Shaul said.

"I wanted to be able to continue that for a longer period of time and this new deal will allow me to do that. I'm happy the head coach has shown the faith in me."

Hull coach Lee Radford said: "We are delighted to have tied Jamie down to a new long-term contract. He could become a centre-piece to this Hull FC squad for years to come."
