Big game experience key for Bulls
The experience of playing in a string of important matches has been the perfect preparation for a Tetley’s Challenge Cup quarter-final, according to Bradford Bulls forward Danny Addy ahead of their clash with Warrington Wolves at The Provident Stadium on Sunday (3.30pm).
The Bulls head into the tie on the back of a morale-boosting victory over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Addy feels that playing in high pressure matches is what Rugby League players thrive on.
“We have had a run of big games,” said Addy. “Every game we have been playing has been a big game. It is why I chose to be a Rugby League player as a job, to play in these big, important matches.
“I have always wanted to win a trophy and now we are only 160 minutes away from playing at Wembley, if everything goes our way.
“Playing in the Cup takes your mind off the league for a bit – it is a massive competition. It is definitely one of my goals as a Rugby League player, to play at Wembley and win a big competition like the Challenge Cup.”
Bradford have enjoyed success against Warrington at The Provident Stadium already this season, beating them 34-28 at the beginning of May, and Addy feels that the Bulls benefitted from the experience.
“We beat them not long ago and we have learnt from that game,” said Addy. “We didn’t have the strongest squad out against them either, and since then we have had a couple of players back and we should have a couple more ready for Sunday.
“Hopefully, with us being at home, it might give us an advantage. We know we have got it in us to beat Warrington.”
