Oldham keep pressure on
Dale Bloomfield went over for a hat-trick of tries as Oldham kept the pressure on Kingstone Press Championship 1 leaders York with a 46-6 victory over University of Gloucestershire All Golds at Whitebank Stadium.
Phil Joy went over for an early try for Oldham and Lewis Palfrey added the extras before he went over for a try of his own four minutes before the break to give the Roughyeds a 10-0 advantage.
Ben White responded with a try for the All Golds two minutes later with Matthew Bradley converting but Mo Agoro's try on the stroke of half-time extended the Oldham advantage.
Bloomfield went over for his first try of the afternoon two minutes after the restart and Michael Ward also breached the All Golds defence as Oldham began to take control.
A pair of tries from Bloomfield as well as scores from Palfrey and Jon Ford only emphasised the level of Oldham's dominance and Palfrey took his goal tally to five.
