Poching to assist Chester at Rovers

Experienced coach Willie Poching will be part of Chris Chester's backroom staff at Hull KR in 2015.

Hull KR's rookie boss Chris Chester has strengthened his backroom staff for 2015 with the appointment of experienced coach Willie Poching as his assistant.

Poching, 41, a former player with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Leeds Rhinos, will quit his current role of assistant coach at Warrington Wolves and link up with the Robins at the end of the season on a one-year contract.

"Willie has learnt his trade under some very good coaches at some very successful clubs so we're looking forward to what he will bring to Hull KR," said Chester, who was appointed as Rovers head coach last week.

"He is very well thought of within the game and he's got a lot of experience as both a player and a coach, so the input he will have into the culture at the club will be invaluable."

Poching began his coaching career at Leeds after hanging up his boots in 2006 and has spent the last four years at Warrington. He has also coached the Samoa national side.
