Huddersfield Giants mercilessly exposed Bradford’s depleted resources with a Super League record 66-18 victory at the Provident Stadium in front of the Bulls' prospective new owner Mandy Koukash.

Mrs Koukash - who was accompanied by husband Marwan, the Salford Red Devils owner, and their two young children - has pledged to provide money for new signings if she gets the chance to complete her purchase in the coming week and top of her shopping list will surely be some front-row forwards.

Bradford's Super League domination in the late Nineties and early Noughties was based on the awesome foursome, a prop quartet that included current Huddersfield coaches Paul Anderson and Stuart Fielden.

The late withdrawal of Adam Sidlow through illness, allied to the unavailability of loan duo Greg Burke and Anthony Mullally, and the departure of Garreth Carvell and Nick Scruton, left the Bulls with just one specialist prop and it showed.

The Giants ran in 12 tries, with Scott Grix, Joe Wardle, Ukuma Ta'ai and Jermaine McGillvary all scoring two, and skipper Danny Brough kicked nine goals from 12 attempts.

Bradford did the double over Huddersfield in the Giants’ table-topping season last year but the Bulls’ hopes of a repeat were dashed by half-time when they trailed 32-6 despite having first benefit of the stiff breeze.

It began badly for Bradford when Tom Olbison knocked on from Brough's kick-off, enabling Grix to score his first try from his side's first set of tackles.

Huddersfield winger Jodie Broughton, once the fastest man in Super League, demonstrated his pace to bring down former Giant Luke George following a touchline dash but the visitors' defence could not re-group in time to prevent Adam Henry scoring the first of his two tries.

Jamie Foster's conversion put Bradford 6-4 ahead but that was as good as it got for Francis Cummins' men.

Former Bradford centre Wardle took Brough's pass to stretch out for Huddersfield's second try on 16 minutes and the Giants cut loose in the second quarter with four more tries before the break.

Loose forward Michael Lawrence took Luke Robinson's pass to touch down and Grix grabbed his second following an offload by impressive England forward Brett Ferres.

The best try was scored by Robinson, who finished off a 60-metre move sparked by hooker Kyle Wood's break down the middle, and second rower Jason Chan went through a yawning gap for his first try of the season.

The Bulls pulled a try back early in the second half through Henry but Huddersfield responded with three more in a 10-minute spell.

Brough and Robinson combined to get substitute Ta'ai over by the posts before Ferres crafted a second try for Wardle and right winger McGillvary used an overlap to register his side's ninth.

Bradford's replacement hooker Adam O'Brien prompted a brief celebration from Mrs Koukash when he took a tap penalty to force his way over from close range and Foster kicked a third goal.

But it was all very predictable as Ta'ai bulldozed his way over for his second try, Ferres deservedly got on the scoresheet when the Bulls failed to clear the danger caused by Grix's kick and McGillvary exposed another chink in the Bradford defence to grab his second.
